THIS makes me drool. And my entire body responds. Yes, this is a mark on the horizon. I want to move toward this kind of material. I could watch this video 12 times in a row and get new inspirations for what they might be doing.
I’d wager the kit mics are coming back through their FX rigs. Any other thoughts?
And I love the utter absence of a computer.

Wow. Definitely inspired.
And while I LOVE this track, ‘Lovely Allen’ will always be my favourite, at least from what I’ve heard so far. Though I think this one is second.

Oh, also, I’d love for us to collaborate. Through these tubes.

i think his kit is triggered rather than coming back through their fx .. it’d be too much to control and to wire up for a live set – plus having a triggered kit basically allows him to have any sound they could want … they are also definitely using a drum machine for simple beat matching and keeping time – this is definitely looped through and has different fx added on as a song progresses … not to rub it in, but seeing them live was one of the most incredible things i’ve witnessed – i’ve never seen anything like it and they were spot on the whole way through – it just screams their name watching the magic float off the stage – too bad the guy on the left doesn’t use the machine i really want to know about in this track … you can see it sitting in front and basically it looks like an old film reel of some kind that he pulls and winds film through which obviously makes a noise that is then sampled and makes sonically astounding noises.
love it.
